Citing a Dictionary in APA Format (Hide Help)

Some of the information needed to properly cite a dictionary entry may include:
  • Author of the Entry (If There is One)
  • Title of the Entry
  • Name of the Encyclopedia
  • Edition Number (If Any)
  • Date of the Edition
  • Other Publication Information
Volume and page numbers are not necessary because the entries in the source are arranged alphabetically and therefore are easy to locate.
